Three Ways to Make Your Wedding Invitations Stand Out on a Budget

Wedding Pinterest is flooded with invitations with wax seals and beautiful calligraphy, but sometimes those embellishments are just not in the budget. So what can a couple do to make their wedding invitations stand out without breaking the bank? Here are a few suggestions from a wedding stationer on how to make your invitations pop without spending tons of extra money.

Belly Bands

Belly bands – they’re a funny word, that, before I became a wedding stationer, I had never heard of before. If you’re not familiar with belly bands, they are a small strip of paper that goes around your full invitation suite and holds all the cards together in one nice little package.

They may sound simple, but you can get really creative with them! You can print something on them, like your wedding monogram if you have one, or you can just have them be a colorful piece of paper that matches or complements your wedding colors.

Either way, they’re a great way of putting that extra finishing touch on your invitation suite!

Envelope Liners

Have you ever received a card or invitation that, when you opened up the envelope, you saw either a colored or patterned paper on the inside of the envelope? Well, that’s an envelope liner!

These can be anything from public domain artwork, custom illustrations, or patterned or solid color paper that gives your envelopes extra pizazz when your guests open them up. Envelope liners also a great way to display a photo of you as a couple without putting it on the invitation itself!

All of the six-piece suite in our customizable Collection come with a matching envelope liner!

Coordinating Envelope Colors

Instead of a plain white envelope, why not opt for something a little more colorful? You can use your wedding invitation envelopes to highlight your wedding colors and make your invitations stand out from the moment your guests see them among the rest of their mail. And if you choose a fun color for your RSVP envelope, you’ll also get a fun surprise every time you receive a response back from your guests!

Our Collection suites come with 30 different envelope color choices, so you are sure to find one that matches your wedding! And you can choose different colors for your main invitation envelope and your RSVP envelope to really highlight your wedding colors.

Embellishing your wedding invitations doesn’t have to be expensive! I hope these three examples inspired you to uplevel your invitations while staying on a budget.

Speaking of budget-friendly, our customizable wedding invitation Collection is a great way to work with a professional wedding stationer, without the custom design price tag. Check out our full Collection below!
