Fall Boho Wedding at the Tavern on Kings | Editorial Photo Shoot

Last fall, I had the pleasure of working with Leslie, from Marie and Co. Weddings on an amazing styled shoot at the Tavern on Kings in Dover, Delaware. Leslie approached me looking for stationery for her vision of an elegant, boho, romantic fall wedding shoot. I was immediately entranced by the idea. I love those fall color palettes, especially when tied to an elegant theme.

The Invitation Suite

I took the idea of elegant and boho and ran with it. Leslie gave me free reign to use my creativity as a designer to put together a suite based on her vision for a boho wedding with a fall color palette. With that color palette in mind, I selected a bold burgundy and bright orange as the primary colors for the suite.

I incorporated loose, rustic botanical elements as the primary focal point of the suite, while still keeping it modern and elegant. I paired this with modern block font for the names and headings, a serif font for the body text, and a script accent font to keep things a little fun.

I love creating personalize elements for all my couples, including editorial shoot couples, so I designed a custom monogram as part of the header of the invitation. The reason I love creating custom monograms, crests, and other motifs is that we are then able to incorporate these elements into all of the couples wedding stationery to create a cohesive look for their entire wedding.

The Wedding Day Stationery

Speaking of creating a cohesive wedding design, I also had the pleasure of creating wedding day stationery for this editorial shoot. Using the same color palette, I designed matching menus, signature drinks sign, a welcome sign, and calligraphy place cards for the tablescape.

You can see in each of these elements, we incorporated the same design elements from the invitations, including that custom monogram I mentioned. We used the same font pairings throughout all the stationery so that there was no doubt the wedding invitations were designed specifically for this wedding.

My favorite part of this shoot was seeing how it all came together so beautifully. The tablescape really incorporated that boho feel while remaining elegant and classy. The calligraphy place cards really brough an elegance to the place settings that only hand written calligraphy can do.

I loved this suite so much that I decided to bring it into my Wedding Stationery Shop as part of the Bohemian Floral Collection. If you love it as much as I do, we can work together to make this your wedding invitation suite! Keep the colors as is for your fall wedding, or customize them to your color palette to make the suite truly unique!

The Dream Team

This shoot could not have been possible without the amazing team listed below. While I couldn’t be there on the day of the styled shoot, I trusted the team to make my stationery shine among the rest of the beautiful pieces of the shoot. And boy did they deliver!
